Bosch announced further job cuts: mainly at locations in Germany. The works council does not want to agree to this.
Weak demand
Announced reduction of places work is to concern the Cross-Domain Computing Solutions department, i.e. the software and automotive electronics department. Demand for intelligent driver assistance systems and automated driving solutions, as well as for control units, is not developing as expected. The economic situation in this department is even more tense than it has been for several months ago.
In addition, the department employs many more employees than required. The company explains that, therefore, “further personnel and structural adjustments are necessary to ensure competitiveness.” Bosch is to develop them together with crew representatives “in the most socially acceptable way possible.”
In recent months, the company has already eliminated several thousand jobs. Nevertheless, the company is concerned that it will miss its annual targets.
Reduction of working time
Moreover, yesterday the company announced plans to reduce working hours. From 1 March By 2025, 450 people employed in several German locations will work only 35 hours a week. The decision is dictated by the less optimistic business prospects.
“From March 1, 2025, 450 employees in several German locations will work only 35 hours a week,” said the company's spokeswoman, confirming the reports of the Stuttgarter Zeitung daily. According to newspapers the goal is to avoid further job cuts.
