Former head of “cover” at the CBA arrested
For several months, a former CBA officer has been behind the walls of a pretrial detention center, who in recent years supervised the work of “covers”, i.e. agents penetrating criminal structures – according to the findings of tvn24.pl. In a secret investigation, the prosecutor's office examines other threads regarding possible crimes and abuses of officers of various formations.
The tvn24.pl editorial team has been trying for a long time to obtain official information regarding the proceedings taking place in the prosecutor's organized crime and corruption section (so-called pezety).
Ultimately, we received – in response to a number of questions – only a few sentences sent to us by prosecutor Katarzyna Calów-Jaszewska from the press department of the National Prosecutor's Office. They show that the investigation into the officers is ongoing in the Lower Silesian “pezety” branch.
– One of the suspects in the case is a person who was an officer of the Central Investigation Bureau, then of the Tax Administration Chamber and the Central Anticorruption Bureau – prosecutor Calów-Jaszewska told us.

The tvn24.pl journalist confirmed in several sources that this was a retired officer, PaweÅ‚ G. In the last phase of his professional career, he served as head of the “cover” department in the Central Anticorruption Bureau. Cover agents are agents who infiltrate criminal groups under changed identities.
The most famous cover person in the history of the Polish services was “agent Tomek”, i.e. Tomasz Kaczmarek.
