The 47-year-old Kyrgyz citizen intended to fly to Istanbul. During the border check, it turned out that he was wanted on a European Arrest Warrant by the Germans and on an arrest warrant issued by a Polish court.

The man was arrested on Monday, January 6, at Chopin Airport during the border check of passengers for a flight to Istanbul. During a passport inspection, border guards found that the 47-year-old Kyrgyz man was wanted on a European Arrest Warrant issued by the German authorities for participating in an attack with the use of a dangerous weapon. He was also wanted by the District Court in Piaseczno for arrest and transfer to the nearest detention center.

He was in Poland illegally

– It turned out that he was staying in Poland without a valid visa or other valid document authorizing him to enter and stay in our country. He was detained and then taken to the District Prosecutor's Office, where further activities in the case were carried out – said Dagmara Bielec from the NadwiƛlaƄski Border Guard Unit in a statement.
