The 35-year-old was losing his breath and he was blue on his face. He could not remove the band from his neck even with the help of his friends with whom he had fun at an alcohol party. The summoned police cut the band and the man was hospitalized.

On March 28, police from Chorzów received a report about a man who was to have a plastic band around his neck and urgently calls on help. The duty officer directed a patrol there.

Policemen noticed a 35-year-old on Siemianowicka Street, who called for help. “The man had big problems with breathing and his face was blue,” they describe. They ran to him and cut the band. After first aid, monitoring his condition all the time, they waited for the arrival of paramedics.

For fun

They determined that during alcohol libation with two friends, the man for fun put on a plastic element on his neck. “He did not realize the serious consequences of his behavior. When he began to choke, he himself, as well as his friends, could not cut the band,” we read in a police communication.

The 35-year-old was intoxicated. A breathalyzer test showed nearly two alcohol per mille in his body. He was hospitalized.

By publishing a message about the event, the police warn to maintain moderation in drinking alcohol, because excessive amount limits the ability to think logically and leads to dangerous behavior that can lead to injuries and even loss of life.
