Over 63 percent of companies intend to employ temporary workers in the first quarter of 2025, according to a study by the Tikrow agency. This is an increase of 12 percentage points year on year. The greatest demand was recorded in the manufacturing industry.
Industries with the greatest demand
The greatest demand for temporary workers was recorded in the production industry, where 72 percent enterprises will be looking for temporary workers in the first quarter of 2025. That's 21 percentage points. more than a year ago.
In the case of the logistics industry, 62 percent declare employment. companies (1 percentage point more than a year ago) and in the trade industry – 54 percent. companies (7 percentage points more y/y). Reasons for temporary employment
The study shows that rising employment costs are the most common reason for hiring temporary workers. This reason was indicated by 42 percent. companies, i.e. by 15 percentage points more than in the study last year.
The industry most affected by the increase in employment costs is the manufacturing industry, where 49 percent representatives from this industry (22 percentage points more year-on-year) indicated this reason for recruiting casual workers.
The second reason for companies' willingness to employ casual workers was the difficulty in recruiting non-specialist workers – this was the reason for 36%. companies (increase by 3 percentage points y/y).
Reasons for taking up temporary work
The analysis emphasizes that the increase in demand for temporary workers on the part of companies does not translate into a similar trend among employees – 19%. respondents declared their willingness to take up part-time work in the first quarter of this year. This is less by 3 percentage points. rdr.
The group that most often intends to take up part-time work are pupils and students – 42%. of them have such a plan in the first quarter of 2025. In the same period in 2024, 32% declared such an intention. people from this group. The most common reason for taking up part-time work is the need for money for additional expenses – this answer was given by 60 percent. respondents. A year ago it was 49 percent.
In a study conducted last year, high prices and high costs were most often indicated among employees (53% in 2024 and 50% now) as the main reasons for taking up casual work.
