Tuned electric bikes can accelerate up to 70 kilometers per hour. They are legally not conquering, but more and more of them on the streets. The police are taking it. Not only because they are not allowed, but above all because they are dangerous.
The warmer it is, the more bikes in the streets, and the less strength in the legs, the more tempt those that allow the legs to help. The problem is that some of the legs are almost completely replacing. Sometimes you can immediately see that the bike is only by name.
One bike detained in Krakow had an increased engine power almost six times: from 250 watts allowed for bicycles to over 1,400 watts. The engine is launched, not by muscle strength. The owner will stand before the court for moving an unauthorized vehicle.
– These types of vehicles can be used only outside the public, even playing in some extreme terrain, but they cannot move on public roads. In some cases, such vehicles can, of course, be registered, but as a moped – explains nadkom. Robert Opas from the Road Office of the Police Headquarters.
The moped must already have approval, technical inspection, license plates, insurance and can only be moved on the road. Legally, in a store, a tuned bike cannot be bought, but, unfortunately, you can find everything on the internet.
– Most of these devices come straight from China, without any documents, without any service checking, just a moped in a box comes, the customer unpacks it, gets on and goes – explains Daniel Wieczorek from the Electric Vehicle Salon in Łódź.

Krakow is fighting with modified bicycles
Pseudorower, which instead of a speed of up to 25 kilometers per hour is rushing on the path or pavement up to 70 kilometers per hour, is a deadly threat.
That is why Krakow rubs the trails and takes to the problem comprehensively. The tuned bikes are to disappear from the streets. For now, eleven pieces have been eliminated, but the police will get braking from the city to help – engine testing devices.
– During the usual routine control, it has the opportunity to check if the bike actually meets the requirements that are just put to bicycles – says nadkom. Roman Łuczyński from the Road Traffic Department of the Municipal Police Headquarters in Krakow.
– If we are moving, for example, a bicycle path with such a modified vehicle, then we can commit a road offense and be punished for it, if the police detect that we are moving a converted bike – comments lawyer Krzysztof Tumielewicz.
The pseudoor opera is up to 5,000 zlotys for a fine and up to three years of a ruthless ban on driving any motor vehicles.
