PiS politician Ryszard Czarnecki assessed that the charges brought against him were “absurd”. – I did not plead guilty, because it is obvious that I had nothing to plead guilty to – he said. He also believes that “the spectacular arrest of him by the CBA was unnecessary”. – It could have been done in a completely different way – invited to the prosecutor's office, they could have come to my apartment – he argued.

Former PiS MEP Czarnecki was detained at Chopin Airport on Wednesday by CBA as part of the proceedings in the Collegium Humanum case. On Thursday evening prosecutors brought two corruption charges against him and his wifeThe suspects face up to 10 years in prison. Czarnecki: It could have been done differently

– I have no complaints about the officers of the services and the justice system, because they carry out the orders of the authorities. It was not the CBA's idea to spectacularly stop me on the airport tarmac and, as a result, delay flights, close part of the airport, create a huge traffic jam and expose people to the risk of missing their planes – he added.

According to Czarnecki, the current government “is making games because it is unable to offer Poles anything in terms of bread or the economy.”

The politician described the charges brought against him as “absurd”. “I did not plead guilty because it is obvious that I had nothing to plead guilty to. I am a person who respects the law, the rule of law and the justice system. I am available whenever there is a desire to talk to me. I will certainly not run away from talks with the justice system,” he said.

Suspension from the party “is a political decision”. Czarnecki: I'm not particularly surprised

When asked how he feels about the decision of the PiS president, Jaroslaw Kaczynski about suspending him from the party, Czarnecki replied: – This is politics.

– It is obvious that the problems with the justice system of PiS members would be better if they did not indirectly affect the party. This is a political decision, I am not particularly surprised by it – said the politician. He noted that he had not yet had time to talk about this issue with the PiS leader.
