On Monday morning, a dead sea gray was found at the shore of the beach in Kołobrzeg. The body of the marine mammal was fished and secured for tests. This is the second dead seal found this year.
As Sebastian Warszewski from the Blue Patrol WWF passed, around 9 o'clock on Monday the service was reported on a dead seal. She was found at the shore of the beach in Kołobrzegnear the descent at Reymonta Street.
– The body was fished and secured for tests. It was a male, a large individual, in the initial state of decay. It is not known how long he drifted dead. His age can only be determined after teeth research – said Sebastian Warszewski. He added that this is the second dead seal found this year. A month earlier, the animal was found almost in the same place, which is probably related to sea currents.

Maritime grays (Halichoerus flu), also called the gray seal, is the only representative of the genus of the Gray Rad (Halichoerus). It occurs in the western and eastern parts of the North Atlantic and the Baltic Sea. Males grow up to 2.5 meters, sometimes up to 3 m, reaching body weight of 300 kilograms. Females are slightly smaller – their maximum length is about 2 m and the weight of 180 kg.
This species is characterized by an elongated, reminiscent of a dog's mouth, which in adult males is characteristically highlighted. The nostrils are wide, in the shape of the letter W.
