The governor of Al-Hudaydah (a city hit hard by flooding) – Mugammad Kahim told the Houthi rebel-controlled Masirah television that about 500 people had to leave their homes due to the flooding. The cities of Taizz and Hajjah were also hit by the downpours. In Yemen, the rainy season lasts from late March to mid-August, and is particularly intense between July and mid-August – reminds Reuters.
