Deposit system. Delikatesy Centrum tests bottle machines in the Łódź province

The deposit system means that for each PET package or can we will pay a symbolic deposit of 50 groszy. The deposit system will be in force on: “single-use plastic beverage bottles with a capacity of up to three litres, including their plastic caps and lids, metal cans with a capacity of up to one litre, and reusable glass bottles with a capacity of up to one and a half litres”.

It is permissible for an employee to accept such packages, but so-called bottle machines can be used for this purpose. This solution is preferred by discount chains or hypermarkets. As reported DirectlyDelikatesy Centrum tests such devices in a selected group shops in the Łódź province. The tests will be carried out successively in other provinces as well.

Delikatesy Centrum returns 10 groszy. Bottle machines also appeared in Biedronka and Lidl

As part of the test, the customer will receive 10 groszy for a PET package or a drink can. The maximum refund amount for a single refund is PLN 5. Then the consumer can use this amount for shopping in a given shop. It has 7 days to do so. – After completing the tests, Eurocash Group will present recommendations to stores based on the Group's franchise model, and their owners they will choose the method of collecting deposit packaging themselves. If they decide, for example, on a bottle vending machine, the purchase of a device adapted to the format of their facility will be the franchisee's responsibility – explains Joanna Szubielska, Senior Manager for Quality Assurance and Health and Safety.
