US President Donald Trump at the beginning of April signed a regulation establishing a minimum 10 % duties for goods from around the world and additional duties for most other countries, including a 20 % duty for products from the European Union.

The head of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen announced that European Union proposed the USA total mutual exemption from duties of industrial goods. In turn, the ministers of trade from EU countries agreed that one should work on retaliation duties, while trying to negotiate from the USA reduction of customs rates.
