Donald Tusk. Prime Minister's message on the anniversary of Poland's entry into the European Union

Prime Minister Donald Tusk gave a message in which he referred, among others, to the anniversary of Poland's entry into the European Union. He said that “Poland's voice in Europe has not sounded so much since time immemorial.” – Without Poland, nothing significant in Europe can be arranged – he added.

The prime minister in his message referred not only to the anniversary of the entrance to the European Union, but also until the day of the flag of the Republic of Poland and the May 3rd Constitution, which falls in the following days.

– Dear compatriots, Poland is a great dream. For centuries this dream created a nation from us. The coming days describe it well. Today we are celebrating our return to the West, the entrance to the European community. Tomorrow we will worship our national colors. On May 3, we celebrate the historical decision that we want to be a modern, strong state with the first constitution in Europe. When we look at the Polish banners these days, let's proudly think that this was the honor to make this great dream – he said.

“We had not only dreaming, but above all to act,” he added.

The head of government admitted that “times are difficult”. – Uncertainty, brutality and egoism return to world politics. The war ceased to be an abstraction. Attachment to the value is denied that there is nothing for free. Does this mean that our Polish dream will once again be taken away from us? Should we be afraid? NO. We are to be strong. Listing our history is often accompanied by sighs – “if we had more time”, “we missed several years”, “one decade”. Not this time. This time we are ready – he emphasized.

“Polish potential is undeniable”

The Prime Minister reminded that this year a thousand years have passed since the coronation of Bolesław the Brave. – Poland is a thousand -year -old state that everyone must take into account. Our anniversary is a breakthrough. By paying tribute to the Brave, we introduce the Piast doctrine of regional power. The strongest economy, the strongest army, the strongest voice in Europe. It requires courage, strength and skills. That's all – you could say – because we have it all – he continued Donald Tusk.

At the same time, he emphasized that “Polish potential is undeniable.” – And we know how to start it. We know what to do. We will expand the Polish industry. We cooperate with entrepreneurs. We eliminate their barriers embarrassing – all that can only be eliminated. On an unprecedented scale, we will involve Polish science and new technologies in the development of the country – calculated the prime minister.

“The strength of the state is successful with its citizens”

– We add one more element – economic diplomacy. The state becomes the patron of the expansion of Polish business, our exports, the interests of Polish entities abroad. And we will be hard and consistently fighting for every workplace. Here in Poland – said the head of government.

As he continued, “the strength of the state comes from his citizens' success.” – From work, which is the holiday today. Good work is the greatest treasure, for which not only good payment is due, but also the highest respect and gratitude of the entire community.
