Donald Tusk will meet with Volodymyr Zelensky in Warsaw

“The EU has understood what Poles have known since the beginning of this war: the defense of Ukraine is the defense of Europe,” wrote Prime Minister Donald Tusk on Platform X. He said that he would meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Warsaw before the July NATO summit.

We agreed with President Zelensky to talk in Warsaw before the NATO summit,” wrote the head of government, who is taking part in the meeting of the European Council on Thursday in Brussels.

The NATO summit will be held in Washington on July 9-11, on the 75th anniversary of the alliance's founding.

On Thursday, the President of Ukraine, who is in Brussels, signed a security agreement together with the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, and the President of the European Council, Charles Michel. The EU commits itself to providing Ukraine and its people with the necessary political, financial, economic, humanitarian, military and diplomatic support for as long and as intensively as necessary.

Such agreements, in accordance with the provisions of last year's NATO summit in Vilnius, constitute a guarantee of support from Western allies for Ukraine. They also signed agreements with Kiev in June United States and Japan. In total, 17 countries have already done so, including some EU countries. During the summit, bilateral agreements with Kiev were also concluded Lithuania and Estonia.

Prime Minister Tusk stated on Thursday in Brussels that Poland is finishing preparing security guarantees for Ukraine.
