Many NGOs have received American funding so far. – Over 50 organizations in Poland, and there are probably several hundred of them – explains Monika Miłowska from the network of non -governmental organizations “Map Help”. By administration decision Donald Trump They will not get more money for activities.

– This is a huge burst and some of our friendly organizations simply do not know whether it will survive – says Katarzyna Sawko from the “Polish Migration Forum” Foundation. – This year there will be PLN 100-200 million in Poland. It is for us, NGOs, there is a huge budget – he says.

The Q Foundation organized Polish language courses for people from Ukraineshe helped them integrate and everyday matters. Mainly for women with young children, the elderly, people with disabilities.

The Nomada Association from Wrocław to refugees and migrants offered legal and psychological assistance, provided medicines, food and basic shopping. – Authentically, the withdrawal of this American help translates into many thousands of people who will not get help – says Maciej Mandelt from the Nomada Association.

The values of the White House have changed

Organizations that have been carrying her to others need help now. – The decision taken by President Trump coincides with his political agenda related to the promotion of certain specific values - comments Filip Pazderski from the Stefan Batory.

Among these values there is no more support for refugees, migrants and there is no help from Ukraine. This is how the landscape of non -governmental organizations is changing not only in Poland. – About 50 percent of humanitarian support in the world came from American funds – says Katarzyna Sawko.

For Polish organizations it is support to be or not to be. That is why they already limit their activities and slow down people. – In our case it is two -thirds of the team – says Maciej Mandelt.

The hole to fall asleep is huge. – As an environment, we try to negotiate with the government, we apply for European funds – says Katarzyna Sawko. – However, it is very difficult to find a different 200 million zlotys – adds Monika Miłowska.

Along with the money, competent people disappear, years of experience and places where those who needed it found help. – Rebuilding it will take us at least years, but I'm not sure if we will be able to return to the level we were at – says Maciej Mandelt.
