The European Commission (EC) proposed retaliation duties in the amount of 25 percent per number of goods from the US – according to the document that Reuters arrived.
This is the EU response to the American duties on steel and aluminum imposed by the president USA Donald Trump.
EU retaliation at Trump's customs
Tariffs imposed by the EU on some American goods would enter into force on May 16, and another on December 1 – indicated in the document.
Bourbon was removed from the original list, which the EC considered in March, said Reuters.
Brussels ready to negotiate
Earlier, the head of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen announced that European Union proposed the USA total mutual exemption from duties of industrial goods.
On the other hand, the ministers of trade from EU countries agreed that one should work on retaliation duties, while trying to negotiate from the USA reduction of customs rates.
