The Institute of Meteorology and Water Management warns of heat. On Saturday, parts of the country will experience scorching heat, which in some places will remain with us throughout the weekend. Check where it will be dangerous.

Forecasters from the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management (IMWM) issued first and second degree meteorological warnings on a three-point, ascending scale.

IMWM warnings of the second degree – heat

IMGW also warns of heat. Second-degree warnings apply to the following provinces:

  • Lesser Polandcounties: Dąbrowa, Tarnów, TarnowNowy Sącz, Nowy SączGorlice;
  • Subcarpathianoutside the following counties: Sanok, Lesko, Bieszczady;
  • Świętokrzyskiepoviats: Busko, Staszów, Sandomierz;
  • Lublincounties: Janów, Biłgoraj, Tomaszów.

The maximum temperature during the day will be between 30 and 33 degrees Celsius. The minimum temperature at night will reach between 18 and 21 degrees Celsius.

The warnings will come into effect at 12pm on Saturday and expire at 5pm on Sunday.

First degree IMWM warnings – heat

Lower-level heat warnings have been issued for the following provinces:

  • Lublinfor the Opole and Kraśnik counties;
  • Świętokrzyskieexcept for counties covered by higher level warnings;
  • Lesser Polandwith the exception of the Sucha, Nowy Targ and Tatra counties and those covered by higher level warnings;
  • Silesianwith the exception of Żywiec County;
  • Opole;
  • Lower Silesiafor the following counties: Ząbkowice, Strzelin, Oława, Oleśnica;
  • Greater Polandfor the Kępno and Ostrzeszów counties;
  • Lodzwith the exception of the following poviats: Poddębice, Łęczyca and Kutno;
  • Masovianfor the following counties: Przysucha, Szydłowiec, Radom, RadomLipsko, Zwoleń, Kozienice, Białobrzegi, Grójec, Garwolin, Piaseczno, Otwock, Mińsk, Wołomin, Legionowo, Nowy Dwór, Sochaczew, Żyrardów, Grodzisk, Pruszków, Warsaw West, Warsaw.

In these places, thermometers are expected to show a maximum of 29 to 31 degrees Celsius during the day. The warnings will be in effect from 12 noon to 6 p.m. on Saturday.

First-degree warning predicts conditions conducive to the occurrence of dangerous meteorological phenomena that may cause material losses and threaten health and life. Conducting business in conditions of exposure to these factors is difficult and dangerous. Expect difficulties resulting from conducting activities in the area of ​​the threat, including delays caused by traffic disruptions, disruptions in the course of outdoor events or the possibility of their cancellation.
