This is a reservoir that is several times smaller and has a completely different scale – said Prime Minister Donald Tusk during a meeting of the crisis team, correcting the earlier information provided by the mayor of Wrocław, Jacek Sutryk, that “the embankment of the pumping station in Mietków has burst”. – The reservoir in Mietków is safe and there is no threat from this direction – said Tomasz Siemoniak, Minister of Internal Affairs and Administration.
At a meeting of the crisis team in Wrocław after 6 p.m., the city president, Jacek Sutryk, gave “urgent information from a moment ago”. – The embankment of the pumping station in Mietków has burst. This means that people need to be evacuated quickly, and there is also an urgent need for big bags and helicopters – he noted.

Before 7 p.m., the mayor of Wrocław wrote about the case on social media. “Wody Polskie is verifying the information provided earlier that the embankment of the pumping station in Mietków has burst. This is not the Mietków reservoir. This is a different place,” he said.
“ATTENTION ATTENTION!!! WE KNOW NOTHING ABOUT THIS! My people in Chwałów, Domanice or Mietków have not found any leaks yet,” wrote Tomasz Sakuta, mayor of the Mietków commune.
Brigadier Daniel Mucha from the Provincial Headquarters of the State Fire Service in Wrocław confirmed that there was no tank rupture in Mietków. – Mietków is intact. Now we have to check the situation in Wawrzeńczyce – he informed.
“The tank is not damaged”
– The reservoir is not damaged. There is no overflow. This information came from another place, the importance of which is completely different and has no significance for the safety of the residents of Lower Silesia. There will be no evacuation decisions. “We do not confirm any cracks or damage to the embankments or other parts of the hydrotechnical structures of the Mietków reservoir. Currently, the reservoir is still operating in accordance with water management instructions,” the Regional Water Management Board in Wrocław reported on Tuesday evening.
As reported on Platform X by the Regional Water Management Board in Wrocław, “due to the persistent inflows above the flood flow to the Mietków reservoir, after consultation with the Lower Silesian Voivode, the Flood Protection Operational Center of the Regional Water Management Board in Wrocław issued an order to increase the discharge from the Mietków reservoir to 100 m3/s from 7 p.m.”
“The Mietków reservoir on the Bystrzyca River currently accumulates water within the limits of the maximum impoundment level of close to 77 million 3 of water with an inflow to the reservoir of 150 m3/s” – reported RZGW. The reservoir is located approx. 25 km southwest of Wrocław.
