A French man has been charged with the rape of a British lady close to the Eiffel Tower, prosecutors have mentioned.
The suspect is accused of raping the lady – who’s reported to be a policewoman in her 20s – within the Champ de Mars park in Paris earlier this week.
In response to the Le Parisien newspaper, the alleged attacker was armed with a weapon when he focused the lady.
In an announcement to Sky Information, the Paris public prosecutor’s workplace mentioned a person was arrested “for allegedly raping a British vacationer on the Champ de Mars”.
The suspect, who was born in 1988 in Chatenay-Malabry in France, appeared earlier than a Justice of the Peace on Thursday charged with rape and was remanded in custody, it added.
