Gdańsk's municipal cemeteries and the Oliwa Park area will be closed until the morning hours on Monday. The same applies to the Gdańsk Zoo. All this for security reasons. An RCB alert is in force in Pomerania from 2 p.m. on Sunday. Violent storms and very strong winds are forecast, with gusts reaching 130 kilometers per hour.

On Sunday, the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management issued third-degree storm warnings for the Pomeranian Voivodeship. Forecasters predict the occurrence of storms, which will be accompanied by heavy rainfall of up to 50 mm and wind gusts of up to 130 km/h, and locally hail. Additionally, tornadoes are possible.

The alert is valid from 2 p.m. on Sunday, until 3 a.m. on Monday. The probability of thunderstorms is 90 percent.

Entry to parks and forested areas is prohibited

For security reasons, from 4.00 p.m. on Sunday, until the morning hours on Monday, Gdańsk municipal cemeteries, the area of ​​the Oliwa Park and the Gdańsk Zoo will be closed. “We ask people staying outside their homes not to enter other parks and forested areas and to be careful,” appealed Patryk Rosiński from the Gdańsk Road and Greenery Authority.
