For unknown reasons, a 70-year-old driver drove a Lexus onto the sidewalk and hit three people in Gdynia. An air ambulance helicopter landed on the scene. The police are investigating the cause of the accident.
The accident occurred on Tuesday at around 3:30 p.m. near the intersection of Zofii Nałkowska and Wielkopolska streets in Gdynia. – Initial findings by police officers working at the scene indicate that the 70-year-old driver of a Lexus passenger car, for reasons unknown at the moment, lost control of the vehicle and drove onto the sidewalk, hitting three people – said junior cadet Ewa Kurowska, press officer for the Gdynia police.
The injured were transported to the hospital. An LPR helicopter landed on site.
The officer said the 70-year-old driver was sober. The police are investigating the circumstances of the accident.
