The Institute of Meteorology and Water Management warns against strong winds and heavy rainfall. First-degree IMWM warnings concern the southern and northern regions of the country.
The Institute of Meteorology and Water Management issued the first meteorological warnings on a three-level, increasing scale.
IMWM first degree warnings – strong wind
Yellow alerts apply in the following voivodeships:
The warnings will be valid there until 3 p.m. Strong wind with an average speed of up to 55 km/h, with gusts of up to 85 km/h, is forecast from the west.
IMWM first degree warnings – intense rain
The lowest level alerts have been issued for the following voivodeships:
- Lesser Polandin the following counties: Tatra, Nowy Targ, Nowy SÄ…czNowy SÄ…cz, Gorlice;
- Podkarpackie, in the following counties: Jasło, KrosnoKrosno, Brzozów, Sanok, Bieszczady, Lesko, Przemyśl, Industry.
The warnings will be in force until 11 a.m. In these areas, moderate rainfall may occur, sometimes heavy rainfall up to 30 l/sq m, locally up to 40 l/sq m.
What is a first degree meteorological warning?
By definition IMWM the first degree warning provides for conditions conducive to the occurrence of dangerous meteorological phenomena that may cause material losses and pose a threat to health and life. Conducting business in conditions of exposure to these factors is difficult and dangerous. Expect difficulties resulting from carrying out activities in the hazardous area, including delays caused by road traffic, disruptions to outdoor events or the possibility of their cancellation. Caution is recommended, the need to follow messages and developments in the weather situation.
