Thousands of square meters of the hospital were flooded. The services had to evacuate patients, but the equipment could not be saved. This makes it impossible for the facility to function. The hospital in Nysa was destroyed by the great flood, and the TVN Foundation will help rebuild it.
The district hospital in Nysa was destroyed during the flood. The water entered the emergency department and the laboratory and completely destroyed the tomographs, the resonance and the only hyperbaric therapy laboratory in the province. The evacuation of patients was also necessary.
– Until now, our employees came to the wards, treated patients, performed their medical duties, and since Monday they have all been coming to help clean up the hospital – said Artur Kamiński, the director of the facility, on TVN24.

Half a million zlotys from the TVN Foundation
The services and many volunteers are also helping to rebuild the hospital.
– I haven't been able to answer the phone for 2-3 days, there are so many calls for help – said the director. – The TVN Foundation also reacted very quickly in terms of support. I would like to thank the TVN Foundation, the president Zuzanna Lewandowska, for the decision, I have an agreement in front of me, which I will sign shortly after the program for financial support of our hospital in Nysa in the amount of half a million zlotys and this is extremely important to us – he added.
Artur Kamiński assured that everyone is working to “restore the hospital to its daily functionality” as soon as possible.
– Thousands of square meters were flooded on the ground floor of our building, where the critical areas of our hospital's medical activity were located: a laboratory, two tomographs, an MRI scanner, an X-ray machine, and this prevents us from operating the departments that are not flooded. This equipment is very expensive, but the entire infrastructure is also destroyed – explains the director of the facility.
TVN Foundation for the hospital in Nysa
At the initiative of the TVN Foundation, a campaign entitled TVN Foundation for the hospital in Nysa. The facility will initially receive half a million zlotys. The foundation is also launching a fundraiser. Additionally, the proceeds from a special charity advertising block, which will be broadcast in prime time, i.e. on Friday (September 20) between TVN's “Fakty” and TVN's “Uwaga”, will be donated to this purpose. In this way, the foundation wants to help the residents of the Nysa district affected by the flood, who will also need hospital medical care.
