Heavy rains in Łomża (Podlaskie Province) caused roads and buildings to flood on Tuesday. In some places, the water was almost knee-deep. Firefighters recorded about 40 incidents.

Heavy rainfall caused numerous floods in Łomża. Streets, parking lots, and buildings were flooded.

– We are receiving a lot of information about various incidents. At the moment, we have recorded about 40 of them. The incidents mainly concern flooded buildings – Paweł Leszczyński, press officer of the Municipal Commander of the State Fire Service in Łomża, informed tvnmeteo.pl at about 2 p.m. The firefighters' actions mainly consist of pumping water out of flooded streets, basements, and buildings. The press officer added that the interventions were mainly recorded in the Łomża district and Łomża.

Flooding in Zambrów County

In Zambrów County, a total of 20 incidents were recorded. Some streets were flooded, but there was no need to direct traffic.
