The Vistula is set to increase in water levels. Is there cause for concern in the capital due to the floods in the south of the country? The Institute of Meteorology and Water Management assures us that Warsaw is not at risk of flooding. – I would call it a flood. The Vistula will have its highest level on Friday, September 20, in the morning. At that time, the water level will be around 220 centimetres, which means it will be in the medium water zone – explains Grzegorz Walijewski, spokesman for the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management. As he adds, the Vistula will have an optimal level, that is how the water level should be in it.

Warsaw is not at risk of flooding or overflowing. How much is 220 centimeters of water? – To illustrate this, the famous Poniatówka beach is flooded when the water level is around 330 centimeters – Walijewski specifies. In the capital, the warning level of the Vistula is 600 centimeters, and the alarm level is 650 centimeters.

There is no rain to be expected either. – A high pressure system is developing over Warsaw, it will be sunny. Today and tomorrow the temperature will be around 24-25 degrees, later around 22 degrees Celsius. On Wednesday, storms may appear in the south of Mazovia – Walijewski sums up.
