Lechia Gdańsk, as a newcomer, has been doing poorly so far. In the season opener, they drew with the Polish vice-champion from Wrocław (1:1), but in the second round at home, they lost to another Ekstraklasa newcomer – Motor Lublin (0:2). On Saturday, August 3, Bogdan Sarnawski had to pick the ball out of the net again. This time three times.

Lech crushed Lechia. Ishak's great form

The Gdańsk players arrived in Poznań. Lech, after defeating Górnik Zabrze (2:0) and losing to Widzew in Łódź (1:2), wanted to achieve another home victory and imposed their style of play from the very beginning of the match. After only three minutes, they were already leading.

The ball was put into the net by Mikael Ishak. Lech's captain scored in his third consecutive match this season and proved that he intends to be the leader of his team. This was not the Swede's last word. In the 40th minute he increased the score to 3:0, and in the meantime Dino Hotić defeated Sarnawski. The Bosnian born in Slovenia played a great match.

He perfectly crossed the ball to Ishak for the 1-0 goal, and then perfectly headed the pass that Adriel Ba Loua sent in his direction. Afonso Sousa also contributed to the third goal – in addition to the scorer Ishak.

Kalle Wendt scored a goal for Lechia in added time. It was just a consolation goal. For Niels Frederiksen, the win is a good omen for what will happen on August 9. In the hit of the 4th round of Ekstraklasa, the Poznań team will play away against Raków Częstochowa, which, although it did not impress, won its Saturday match with GKS Katowice. Jean Carlos gave three points to Marek Papszun's team.

Lechia is in a much worse situation, which even the return of Maksym Chłań – the leader of the offensive, absent at the beginning of the season due to his participation in the Olympics, did not help. The Gdańsk team has only one point to its name, and on August 11th they will host Zagłębie Lubin at home. Waldemar Fornalik's team managed to draw with Pogoń this season, and on Friday evening, after a goal by Igor Orlikowski, they defeated Puszcza Niepołomice.
