An Israeli airstrike on a residential building in southern Lebanon killed about 10 people, including two children, and wounded five, state news agency NNA reported Saturday. All the victims were Syrian citizens.
The NNA news agency added that the final death toll would be announced after DNA tests were conducted to determine the victims' identities. Meanwhile, the Israeli army said in a statement on Saturday morning that it had struck “a Hezbollah weapons depot at night” in the Nabatieh region, as well as the group's “military structures” near the border between the two countries.
The attack took place the day after end of negotiations between Israel and Hamas in Doha, Qatar, convened by USA, Egypt and Rhinitis. Washington presented a compromise plan for a ceasefire and an exchange of Israeli hostages for Palestinian prisoners. Washington is putting pressure on both sides and expects the deal to be finally approved next week.
