Thus, Francis recalled the famous image of Our Lady of Snow and his title Salus Populi Romani, who explains himself to the saving of the Roman people, before whom he prayed at every important moment of his pontificate, over 125 times in this basilica.
The Archprint stated that several places in the basilica were proposed to the Pope. Eventually he chose a place at the Sforza chapel. “He wanted to have a simple Ligurian stone grave,” added Purpurat.
