The Italian authorities in the south of the country were stirred up and mobilized by unofficial reports that Madonna wanted to organize a “mega party” there to celebrate her 66th birthday. According to local media, the singer is to sail to the Capri island area on a yacht, and her birthday intends to celebrate in the great amphitheater in the archaeological park in Pompeii with 500 invited guests. The dinner, according to rumors, will be prepared by excellent chefs – reports the daily “Corriere della Sera”.
The newspaper reported that the head of the Naples province, Prefect Michele Di Bari, had convened a special security committee to determine what measures should be taken in connection with the expected arrival of Madonna and her many fans. The Pompeii commune authorities said they were ready to host her.

As rumours of a great celebration at the site of the remains of the ancient city grew stronger with each passing moment, a statement was issued by the excavation director on Monday evening.
“Following the rumours circulating in the press these days about a 'mega-party' of an international star with 500 guests at the excavations in Pompeii and an alleged fee for renting the Grand Theatre in the amount of 30 thousand euros, the archaeological park explains that this information is unfounded,” the directorate announced.
As “Corriere della Sera” noted, it is not ruled out that Madonna Louise Veronica Ciccone will spend her birthday in another, evocative place in Campania.
