Fire at a landfill with rainfall in Janikowo (Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship). No one was injured. Sixteen fire brigades participated in the firefighting operation. The fire could be seen from several kilometers away.
A fire at a waste landfill occurred on Sunday (June 23) afternoon in Janikowo.
– A storage site for materials intended for processing caught fire. The plant processes plastics. For undetermined reasons, some of the material burned, senior captain Jarosław Skotnicki, press officer of the District Headquarters of the State Fire Service in Inowrocław, told tvn24.pl.

No injuries
He added that the activities lasted until the morning hours to monitor the fire. He emphasized that the fire situation was under control by midnight. No one was hurt in the incident.
– At the beginning, the situation was serious due to heavy smoke. The fire was visible from the vicinity of Janikowo. 16 fire brigades participated in the fire extinguishing operation – explained the firefighter.

The circumstances of the incident are being investigated by the police. MEP Krzysztof Brejza from Inowrocław also got involved in the matter. He announced intervention in the Ministry of Interior and Administration and monitoring the situation.
