Japan Airlines has restored its IT system, including ticket sales, after Thursday's failure caused by a hacker attack, the Kyodo news agency reported. As a result of the cyber attack, over 20 domestic and international flights were delayed.
On Thursday morning local time (on the night from Wednesday to Thursday in Poland) the national carrier Japan noted problems in the passenger baggage registration system. In response, JAL temporarily disabled the offending router and suspended ticket sales.
The carrier emphasized that it was as a result of the attack At least 24 domestic connections were delayed and to “changes to international flights”. However, no passenger data leakage or major damage or loss was reported.

Japan's other leading carrier, All Nippon Airlines (ANA), said it had not observed any signs of an attack on its systems.
