From 1997 to 2001, Netzel worked at bank PKO BP as an advisor and managing director of the markets division. For the position of president PZU he was appointed by former Treasury Minister Wojciech JasiƄski in 2006. However, Netzel did not stay there for long, because he was dismissed a year later, a day after he was detained by the Internal Security Agency. The lawyer was charged with giving false testimony and obstructing the investigation into the leak regarding the land scandal.

As the local portal recalled, during the investigation into the land scandal, recordings of telephone conversations between Netzel and the then Minister of Justice, Zbigniew Ziobro, were revealed. The lawyer claimed that the head of the ministry pressured him to give specific testimony regarding the leak. Ziobro denied all accusations, and in 2010 the prosecutor's office discontinued the investigation into Netzel.

Jaromir Netzel also fulfilled the role of a lawyer. He was, among others, representative of Henryka Krzywonos in a case brought by a former officer CBA. He represented the politician pro bono. The case concerned a situation from 2011, when Krzywonos said that a former CBA officer had hurt and tricked women and called him a “bottom”. In response, he filed a lawsuit against the Solidarity activist, demanding an apology.
