Katowice. A man with a knife was detained

A man was detained in Katowice who fought in front of the store. Policemen said that “he was holding an object reminiscent of a file.” He also had two knives with him.

We received information that in the vicinity of the University of Economics in Katowice, a man with a dangerous tool was to be circulated at Contact 24.

Staff sergeant Dominik Michalik, press officer of the Municipal Police Headquarters in Katowice, said that on Sunday in the afternoon a strangely behaving man was noticed around the campus.

He stipulated, however, that he did not stay at the university. – He was noticed in front of the store in her area, and the witnesses notified the police of his strange behavior – he added.

– Upon arrival, the police detained the man in a drunk state, who held the object -like object in his hand. During further activities, it turned out that the detainee also had a knife with him – he said. He assured that the officers also checked the campus area preventively and found no threat.

In a later statement of the Silesian police published on Facebook, it was clarified that the man had two knives with him.

The policeman added that activities with a detained man are underway. – It is also important to emphasize the responsible civic attitude of people who reported us a dangerous situation and enabled police officers to intervene before any dangerous event could occur – summed up Michalik.
