Gorzów police are on the hunt for a man who escaped from a hospital in Kostrzyn nad Odrą during tests. The 40-year-old was detained to serve a three-year sentence for burglary. He had been in the clinic under police supervision for several days.

The escape took place on July 2 around 4 p.m. The detained man was with two officers in the hospital to undergo diagnostic tests. At one point, he asked the officers to step aside while the test was being performed. The 40-year-old took advantage of the moment of inattention and jumped out of a window on the second floor of the building and fled towards the forest.

The search for the man involved very large forces and resources. The forest complex, which is located in the area of ​​the hospital, was combed.

After 10 p.m., blockade posts were also set up on the exit roads from Kostrzyn nad Odrą. Firefighters with a drone from OSP Santocko and OSP Bogdaniec were also brought in to help with the search.

“The search is continuing and is being conducted in multiple areas,” we read in a police statement.
