Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Pieskow announces that the next round of Russian-American talks will take place on Thursday in Istanbul, Turkey. In turn, Bloomberg reports that the delegation of Ukraine will pay a visit to the USA on Friday and Saturday to talk to the American authorities about a raw material agreement.

Representatives of the Russian Ministry of Diplomacy are to participate in the Russian -American negotiations planned for April 10 – said the Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Pieskow. He did not reveal what topics would be discussed.

According to Russian media, at the forefront of the delegation Russia Aleksandr Darczijew, appointed Russian ambassador in the USA, is to stand. The American delegation, in turn, is to be managed by Sonata Coulter, deputy assistant to the Secretary of State of the USA. The talks are to concern “normalization of the work of embassies” – the Russian side said.

The Ukrainian delegation – which will pay a visit to the US on Friday and Saturday to talk to the American authorities about the raw material agreement – will enter the Ukrainian deputy ministers of the economy and justice.

The US politicians will not fly to the US, because at the current stage of talks with the administration of President Donald Trump it is necessary to conduct technical consultations – we read. Kyiv also chose an international law firm to advise the Ukrainian side during negotiations.

The visit will probably take place on April 11-12. The MSZ spokesman admitted that this undertaking has already been planned, but refused to provide details.

Negotiations on the new draft contract

On Sunday, the Minister of Economy of Ukraine, Julia Swyrydenko, announced that Ukraine would send his team to Washington this week to start negotiations on the new draft agreement on the mining of Ukrainian mineral resources.

– The new draft of the US agreement shows that the intention to create a fund or joint investing remains – said Swyrydenko.

Earlier, the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andriy Sybiha reported that the authorities in Kiev received from the US administration a new draft raw material agreement and are already cooperating with American partners to sign an agreement. Critics of the contract say, however, that it is only an attempt to deprive Kiev of control over their own natural resources and infrastructure.

According to the AP agency, the new project includes not only the metals of rare lands, but also gas and oil.
