PiS MP Krzysztof Sobolewski, former secretary general of the party, has waived his immunity. As PiS's election representative, he is to be held responsible for failing to remove posters of the party's candidates after the parliamentary elections.

The Rules, Deputies' Affairs and Immunities Committee will consider on Tuesday the correctness of the declaration of waiver of immunity by PiS MP Krzysztof Sobolewski.

On February 8, 2024, the commander of the City Guard in Białystok requested consent to prosecute him for the offense.

Sobolewski said that he waived his immunity because, as an electoral representative, he is responsible for failing to remove election posters within the statutory deadline after the end of voting.

According to the law, election representatives are generally obliged to remove posters, banners and election slogans within 30 days after the date of the election. elections. Violation of these provisions is punishable by a fine of up to five thousand zlotys.

This obligation does not apply, among others, to situations in which posters, election slogans and banners are located on real estate, facilities or devices that are not owned by the State Treasury, state legal persons, local government units or their unions or associations.
