The accident occurred on Monday around 8.30 a.m. on Kwiatowa Street in Kusowo, Bydgoszcz County. Suburban bus number 41 hit a tree.

5 fire brigade units, 4 medical rescue teams and the police were dispatched to the site. There were about 20 people traveling on the bus. Five of them were taken to hospitals with injuries – fractures, cuts and abrasions.
– Our first actions were to free the driver who was trapped inside the vehicle from the wreck. He was conscious and left the bus on his own, said senior captain Karol Smarz, press officer of the Municipal Headquarters of the State Fire Service in Bydgoszcz.

We asked Commissioner Lidia Kowalska, press officer of the Municipal Police Headquarters in Bydgoszcz, for details about this incident.
– A suburban bus of the Municipal Transport Company in Bydgoszcz, line number 41, ran off the right side and hit a tree. The driver was blinded by the sun. About 20 people traveled on the bus, 5 were taken to hospital. The 46-year-old driver was sober. The road is blocked. A detour through Borówno was organized. The disruptions may last about 2 hours, the policewoman explained.
