A 25-year-old stood before the court in Leipzig (Masovian), who drove a car into a family walking on the side of the road. Father and his 15-year-old daughter died in the accident. The perpetrator is threatening from half a year to eight years in prison.

On Monday, a trial in the District Court in Leipzig began in the case of an accident with February 2024 in Wola Solecka the second in the poviat Leipzig.

During the first hearing, an indictment was read.

– The accused confessed to committing the alleged act. The protocol of the hearing shows that he apologized to the family of the victims by letter before the trial. Also at the hearing he expressed regret for committing the act – the Polish Press Agency found out at the District Court in Radom.

He was driving too fast

The accident happened in the evening. Investigative findings show that a 52-year-old man and his 45-year-old wife, teachers of the local school, went out with a 15-year-old daughter for an evening walk. At some point, Mazda 6 entered the walking family with impetus.

As a result of injuries, the man participating in the accident suffered death on the spot. Three days later, his 15-year-old daughter died in the hospital. The third pedestrian suffered numerous injuries resulting in a serious, long -lasting disease.

The accident occurred in built -up areas, in a well -lit place. One of the people had a reflective vest. Investigators will determine that the student driving the car was going too fast. In the place where the accident occurred, a speed of up to 40 km/h was in force, meanwhile he moved at a speed almost twice (from 76 to 80 km/h).

According to the prosecutor's office, the driver did not exercise particular caution and incorrectly watched the way on its straight section, which caused the change of direction to the left side of the road and pedestrians during the maneuver.

– In the opinion of experts, this could result from incorrectly conducted observation of the road and its immediate surroundings. Perhaps the man fell asleep behind the wheel, which is difficult to confirm – they said.

Accused Dawid Ś. He was sober. – Hearded as a suspect, he confessed to committing the act accused of him and explained that he did not remember how the incident occurred – informed the spokeswoman of the District Prosecutor's Office in Radom Aneta Góźdź after directing the indictment to the court.

Freedom preventive measures in the form of a financial guarantee of 20,000 were applied to the 25-year-old. PLN and police supervision. The man is also forbidden to leave the country. For causing an accident, he faces a penalty from six months to eight years imprisonment.
