National Prosecutor Dariusz Korneluk informed in “Tak jest” that “a special investigative team has been working at the National Prosecutor's Office for four months, whose task is to verify various types of information and the correctness of spending public funds from the Justice Fund.”

– So far, the team has brought charges against 10 people. As for two, requests have been submitted to the Sejm to waive immunity, he said. – Today's (Wednesday's) motion concerns consent to the detention and temporary arrest of Mr Rymanowski. The allegations concern primarily the MP's actions as part of an organized group aimed at committing crimes by identified persons mentioned in this application, as well as by wanted and unidentified persons, he explained. He added that these were also allegations of exceeding powers and failing to fulfill obligations related to the management of public property.

– In total, using Article 65 of the Penal Code, i.e. acting in an organized group, all crimes for which we want to bring charges, including confirming untruth, are punishable by imprisonment of up to 15 years – said the prosecutor.

He noted that “the punishment will depend on the evidence, in particular on the attitude of the future defendant.” – The evidence is not only personal sources of evidence, it is also evidence collected as part of the searches that were carried out, as well as documents directly received from the Ministry of Justice and relating to the allocation of public funds under the Justice Fund – he explained. He added that the above-mentioned allegations “concern property that was distributed by the MP in the amount of over PLN 112 million.”
