Tests of the ability to maintain frequencies in the electricity network of the Baltic countries went successfully – the operators of Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia informed. The Baltic States disconnected on Saturday from the post -Soviet power system. On Sunday, full integration with the European network is to take place.
During Saturday, frequency management capacity tests were disconnected and attached back to the network with some manufacturing sources to examine the ability to maintain network operating parameters. As part of the attempts, a gas electricity plant in Lithuania with 455 MW was disconnected from the network for an hour and a half.

Electrical systems reacted correctly, the network operating parameters were maintained, and energy supplies were not threatened – Lithuanian transmission system operators said on Saturday evening – Litgrid, Latvia – Ast i Estonia – Elering.
On Sunday morning, operators announced further tests – maintaining voltage on the web.

No more with the post -Soviet system
On Saturday at 8.09 Polish time the last flow of electricity of technical nature between the Baltic States and Belarus and Russiaincluding with the Królewiec District. Litgrid, AST and ELERING took over full control over frequency in power networks and system balance, which means cutting off to the post -Soviet IPS/UPS system and control of the BRLL area in Moscow and transition to so -called isolated island.
After cutting off, no problems with network operation and energy supply were noted.

Work in this mode is to last until the early afternoon on Sunday, when it will be full synchronization with the synchronous area of continental Europe of the Cese via the Litpol Link connection between Lithuania and Poland.
