Owners St. John has announced the possibility of reserving seats for the celebration of the restaurant's round anniversary, which will take place between September 9 and 27. In a unique offer, they announced the preparation of their most popular dishes at prices from 1994, when the restaurant was founded. As reported by “The Guardian”all tables were booked on Thursday 22nd August in just a few minutes.
For a fraction of the current price, customers will be able to enjoy the restaurant's finest dishes
“We just do it things the way we think they should be made, and we cook what we want to eat. We have been fortunate enough to discover that our many friends and customers want to eat the same way,” the owners of St. John wrote in instagram post.
The lucky ones who managed to book tables will have the opportunity to eat, among others, the famous salad of baked bone marrow and parsley – for the price of 4.20 pound instead of the current £16, apricots on toast for £3.70, which will cost over £10 in 2024, and grilled lamb tongue, broad beans and carrots for just £8.80. Interestingly, in keeping with the prevailing tradition, the menu at St. John will change twice a day, and diners can expect “both beloved classics and favourites from the archives, in the form and price in which they first caused surprise and acclaim in 1994”.
