Turbine fire on the PGE Resko wind farm and in the town of Ługowina in West Pomerania. It is not yet known why fire has appeared.
Firefighters received a notification on Wednesday after 10 o'clock. Six fire brigades were placed in place.
– Firefighters' activities were limited to securing the place of the incident – said the press officer of the Provincial Headquarters of the State Fire Service in Szczecin aspirant Dariusz Schacht.

The windmill gondola is located at an altitude of about one hundred meters, which prevented an effective firefighting operation at first. After several dozen minutes, the situation was managed.
– Actions have been completed. The place of the event was handed over to the owner of the object – told captain Marek Kowalski, press officer of the Poviat Headquarters of the State Fire Service in Łobza.
The causes of the fire are not yet known
Windmills in Ługowina are a wind farm and belonging to PGE Energia Renewable. It has been operating since 2013. The installed power is over 14 MW. There are seven 2 MW turbines.

It is not yet known why the turbine has been lit. In the pictures sent by the Poviat Headquarters of the State Fire Service in Łobza you can see that the fire only covered the gondola. Windmill blades are not damaged.
– We don't know the reasons. We will explain them after the firefighting action – said Marcin Poznań from the PGE press office.

This is another case of winding wind turbine in recent months. In November last year, a windmill burned down in the commune Malechowo near Koszalin. In October, the fire destroyed the turbine in the commune Będzino between Koszalin and Kołobrzeg.
