Magdalena Adamowicz remembers her deceased husband and talks about hate speech

There are politicians, there are people who use incitement to hatred to gain power and then keep it until the division of Poles – noted Magdalena Adamowicz, MEP of the Civic Coalition, in “Fakty po Faktach” on TVN24. In the program she commented, among others: to the anniversary of the death of her husband Paweł Adamowicz, as well as recent threats against the head of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity, Jurek Owsiak, and the president of Gdańsk, Aleksandra Dulkiewicz.

This week was commemorated the sixth anniversary of the death of the president of Gdańsk, Paweł Adamowicz. The attack on him took place on January 13, 2019, during the finale of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity. Then Stefan W. entered the stage at Targ Węglowy and stabbed the president of Gdańsk three times. The attacker was arrested on the spot. As a result of his injuries, Adamowicz died in hospital.

The host of the program, Piotr Marciniak, in “Fakty po Faktach” on TVN24, referred to recent threats against the head of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity Jerzy Owsiak and the president of Gdańsk Aleksandra Dulkiewicz. – A few days ago sister Małgorzata Chmielewska here, in this studio, she saidthat basically it seemed that after the murder of my husband, Paweł Adamowicz, we had already reached the bottom, that it couldn't get any worse. And unfortunately it's even worse. Nothing has changed. “I feel like it's worse,” she replied. She added that “only the channels that spread hatred have changed.”

“Paweł was not the only victim of this Polish-Polish war”

When asked about the sixth anniversary of her husband's death, Adamowicz said: – The death of a loved one, a wonderful friend, a wonderful husband and the most loving father in the world is something that will never be forgotten and the time criterion is not important here. Paweł will always be in my heart, in our heart, in the hearts of all our loved ones.

She noted that “Paweł was not the only victim of this Polish-Polish war, this hatred spread so widely.” Adamowicz pointed out that there were many other victims, more or less known.

– There are politicians, there are people who use this incitement to hatred to, firstly, gain power and then maintain it to divide Poles, and they use it very consciously – she emphasized.
