The Minister of National Defense announced that British Eurofighter aircraft were picked up from the base in Malbork. The purpose of these fighters is to protect the airspace of the Baltic States against the Russian threat.
– I have information that the general (Maciej) Klisz, the operational commander (types of the armed forces – ed.) Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz On Thursday in Krakow on the occasion of the Easter meeting with the soldiers of the Krakow garrison.
– Again, another ship of the Russian Federation had to be observed by our allies, this mission continues all the time. Yesterday there was also a pickup – they were Swedish soldiers, Swedish grimens and British Eurofighters. We are in activity all the time, it requires supervision, also during the holidays – said Kosiniak -Kamysz.

Responding to incidents
Allied fighters stationed in Malbork and – as part of the NATO Baltic Air Policing mission – in Lithuanian Shawl and Estonian Amarari, they are involved in patrolling spaces over the Baltic States, Poland and the Baltic Sea. They are intended for responding to repetitive incidents in which Russian aircraft violate the Natural airspace or do not respond to calls.
Currently in Malbork, apart from Polish MiG-29 aircraft, British Eurofightery and Swedish grimens are stationed, which support Polish aviation in air space protection. For the Swedes, the mission in Malbork is historical – this is the first time Swedish aviation is located outside the country.
In turn, for the British this is another rotation of the mission on the Eastern Flanka NATO in Malbork by the end of July, six Eurofighter Typhoon fighters from the 2nd Squadron of the Royal Air Force from the RAF Lossiemouth base in Scotland.
On Wednesday, the NATO Command of the Allied Air Force (Aircom) announced that the British fighters from Malbork were picked up in response to the activities of a Russian aircraft, which – according to the announcement – “did not follow international safety standards”. Portuguese F-16 from the base in Estonia.
