After the election of the new board of the Małopolska province, PiS councilor Barbara Nowak resigned from her mandate. This is an act of protest against the actions of politicians of this party, who have shown disobedience towards chairman Jarosław Kaczyński. – Traitors should not sit in high positions and receive rewards for what they have done – she told journalists.
Former Małopolska education superintendent and recently provincial assembly councilor Barbara Nowak from PiS resigned from her mandate.
The councilor announced this at the end of the regional council session, during which a new board was elected. Łukasz Smółka has been elected Marshal of the Małopolska Voivodeshipeven though PiS councillors had previously tried to push through the candidacy five times PiS MP and former voivode Łukasz Kmita, supported by Jaroslaw Kaczynski.

“Betrayal is betrayal”
The PiS chairman bowed to the rebellious councillors of his own party, who did not allow Kmita to be elected as the province marshal. It was in reaction to the victory of the faction opposing MP Kmita that Barbara Nowak decided to resign from her mandate.

Barbara Nowak noticed that some councillors did not vote for Łukasz Kmita’s candidacy five times, as the party leadership expected them to do.
– I called them traitors and I do not take it back. For me, betrayal is betrayal. Treason is punished, not rewarded. Today I carried out the will of everyone, the entire club, I voted as they wished, but I honestly say: I do not agree with such an arrangement. I cannot tolerate it, such is my honor and I resign – said the former curator.
The councilor emphasized that she had not consulted anyone about her decision to resign. “I need to be able to look at myself in the mirror and I have never given that up. I cannot give up my sense of honor for any benefit, no matter what,” she said. She emphasized that her decision is not tantamount to opposing the current form of the provincial government.
