The British Marx & Spencer network has victims of the hacker attack. All online orders were suspended, and employees of the main magazine in Great Britain were sent home.
The Marx & Spencer network has announced the suspension of orders via websites due to the “cybernetic incident”. The range can still be viewed online.
“At the moment there is no need for customers to take any actions (…) Our experienced team – with the support of leading experts for cyber security – intensively works on restoring online shopping” – we read in a network message posted on the Polish website.
There is a lack of products
The M&S chain of stores stopped taking orders via its website and application on Friday. Earlier there were problems with Payments and some services in online sales.
As “The Guardian” reports, there is a lack of goods in Marks & Spencer stores. In addition, M&S suspended the delivery of specific packed food products to his OCADO store.
In turn, the Sky News portal said that hundreds of employees employed in the main M&S magazine in East Midlands were ordered to work.
Marx & Spencer victim of the attack
It is still unknown how long the current situation will last. The network management indicated that the cyber attack was “extensive” and the full removal of its effects would take up the company “some time”. It was also not given when they return online.
The police confirmed on Wednesday that he was investigating the attack that was associated with the Scatted Spider Hacker Group.
Until now, M&S has not disclosed details about the attack. Cyber security experts pointed out that the fact that M&S turned off systems indicated that it was probably a ransomware attack. This is a type of malware that blocks access to a computer system or user files, demanding a ransom in exchange for restoring access.
