From today's perspective, I believe that we could have carried out a number of activities differently – said PiS MP Michał Dworczyk in “Rozmowa Piaseckiego” on TVN24, referring to the actions of the PiS government during the COVID-19 pandemic. The former head of the Chancellery of the Prime Minister added that on his behalf he could say that “there were mistakes.”

Last week, the Supreme Audit Office (NIK) presented the results of the audit regarding the purchase of personal protective equipment in connection with counteracting COVID-19. They show that the Chancellery of the Prime Minister spent nearly PLN 200 million uneconomically, unreliably and unintentionally on the purchase of personal protective equipment in 2020-2021.

Former president of the Chancellery of the Prime Minister and PiS MP Michał Dworczyk said on Tuesday on TVN24 that “this is another edition of the war between President Marian Banaś and the former government.” He added that he had not seen this report and would like to be able to read the documents.

Referring to actions during the pandemic, he said he could speak from the perspective of 2024. – We weren't so smart back then, because, like the whole world, we faced a challenge that had never before faced either Poland or any European country, Dworczyk said.
