Murder of a 35-year-old in Sosnowiec. Two Ukrainians were detained

On Sunday (November 3) at noon, the officer on duty at the Sosnowiec police station was notified of the discovery of a man's body near the garages near Będzińska Street. It turned out that he was a 35-year-old citizen Ukraine. Investigative and operational police officers, a prosecutor, a forensic technician and a pathologist were involved in solving the case. The prosecutor's office initiated an investigation.

– After Sosnowiec criminals and policemen from the Criminal Department of the Provincial Police Headquarters in Katowice carried out a number of activities both at the scene and later, the officers found people who could have been related to this event. The very next day after receiving the report, the police detained two Ukrainian citizens, aged 26 and 46, said aspirant Katarzyna Cypel-Dąbrowska from the Municipal Police Headquarters in Sosnowiec.

The men heard the prosecutor's charges on Tuesday. They face life imprisonment for murder. Requests for the arrest of both suspects were submitted to the court. As Michał Łukasik, the deputy head of the Sosnowiec-Północ District Prosecutor's Office, said, “the victim had a stab wound with great force near the shoulder blade, reaching into the lung, as well as cuts on the neck.” – Each of them would lead to death – he noted.

As prosecutor Łukasik added, one of the suspects pleaded guilty in his explanation, giving his version of events, while the other stated that he was not at the crime scene. The suspects said they did not know the 35-year-old before. They met on the street and wanted to buy alcohol.

– For unknown reasons and motivation, these blows were struck – described prosecutor Łukasik. It is still being determined whether both suspects stabbed the victim. The investigators seized several knives, including two which, according to preliminary findings, correspond to the wounds inflicted. Both the victim and the detained lived in Sosnowiec.
