On Tuesday, November 26, around 5:40 p.m., the police officer on duty in Nakło nad Notecią received a report regarding the disappearance of a woman. According to information provided by relatives, the 57-year-old woman left her home at around 1 p.m. to go to a store in the nearby town of Wytwarz and did not return. The reporting person contacted the missing person by phone, who said that she was lost in the forest and could not determine where she was.

Officers from the Nakło police station were dispatched to the search operation and, together with firefighters from the Volunteer Fire Department, they began checking the areas on the Wytwarz-Potulice route. The operator of a police drone also took part in the activities.

“Due to the large forest area that required checking, the search operation was not the easiest one, and contact with the missing person was becoming more and more difficult. Due to the approaching night and low temperatures at this time of year, every hour was worth its weight in gold” – says in Kujawsko-Pomorskie police statement. “One of the policemen came up with an idea to narrow down the search area. He called the woman and asked her not to hang up. He told his friend to take his phone and listen. He got into the police car and drove along the Potulice-Wystaw route with the sound of the beeping signals. When the listening officer heard the loud sound of police sirens, he used his radio to signal his colleague to stop. This allowed him to determine where the woman was. – added.

It was a good lead. While combing the forest in the indicated area, volunteer firefighters found an unconscious 57-year-old woman. The woman required medical assistance and was handed over to rescuers who arrived at the scene and transported her to the hospital.
