– If you have a choice between participating in the swearing-in ceremony and, on the other hand, the real possibility of a visit by Donald Trump at the invitation of the President of the Republic of Poland in the future, it is definitely worth focusing on the latter – said the head of the National Security Bureau, Jacek Siewiera, in “Fakty po Faktach”. He thus referred to the lack of invitation to President Andrzej Duda and Prime Minister Donald Tusk to the inauguration ceremony of Trump's presidency.
– I'm a lousy diplomat (…), but I know something different. If the choice is between the possibility of participating in the swearing-in ceremony in the United States and talking to the president-elect, and on the other hand the real possibility of a visit by the president (Donald Trump) at the invitation of the president of the Republic of Poland in the future, it is definitely worth focusing on the latter – said Jacek Siewiera.
However, the head of the National Security Bureau noted that “heads of state have not previously participated” in the swearing-in ceremonies of subsequent presidents. USA.
Siewiera: Ukraine is still at the table
Jacek Siewiera he was also asked if he knew what the new US administration's idea was for the ending war in Ukraine. – Without a doubt, this war must be ended (…) in a way that is acceptable and consistent with the will of the leaders Ukraine – replied the head of the National Security Bureau. As he emphasized, “Ukraine is still at the negotiating table.”
He noted that arms supplies “are the largest since the beginning of this war” and Ukraine “does not lack ammunition.” – This is a completely different situation than last year – he added.
– The time it takes for Ukraine to gain and build a position of strength plays a key role here. Ukraine must make its own decision about mobilization, about using weapons, and about engaging younger human resources on the front line, said the head of the National Security Bureau. He also emphasized that “a ceasefire will be the worst possible scenario” and Ukraine must “build proper political support for a lasting solution.”
Siewiera explained the origins of Donald Trump's bold announcements about the end of the war and the signals he sent to his allies NATO. – Their main purpose is to format and (…) emphasize a certain unpredictability, which creates conditions for negotiations – he said. In his opinion, Trump's words are addressed not only to “audiences in the European Union.”
– The message that every analyst and every strategist in the Kremlin reads (…) is very simple: there is a war going on with the 40 million people of Ukraine, which we support (…), and you in Russia you are already in economic trouble. If I force Europeans to spend 5 percent of GDP on defense, you will be in a difficult negotiating position, Trump outlined.
