The court has arrested a 20-year-old resident of Lower Silesia for three months, who is suspected of hitting a woman 10 years older than him seven times with a hammer in the head in an apartment in Opole, causing her death. The man fled the scene and was arrested less than 24 hours later in the Mazovian province.

The incident took place on July 25. The police were informed about the body of a woman found in an apartment in Opole. Officers from the criminal department went to the scene. As we read in the police statement, the investigators' findings indicate that there was an argument between the attacker and the victim, during which the man used a hammer to kill the 30-year-old woman. After collecting evidence, the police officers identified the probable perpetrator.

Arrest for 20-year-old

According to the police, police officers from the City Police Headquarters and the Provincial Police Headquarters in Opole participated in the activities aimed at identifying and arresting the perpetrator of the crime. “Thanks to the intensive work of detectives from two units, the police officers caught the trail of the suspect, which led them to the Masovian Voivodeship. There, with the support of local police officers, at around 2:30 a.m. the officers arrested a 20-year-old resident of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship,” we read in the release.

20-year-old charged with murderOpole Police

After the 20-year-old was transported to Opole, a site visit was conducted with him at the scene of the incident. The man was charged with murder, to which he confessed. By court order, he was temporarily arrested for three months. He faces a life sentence.
